We are excited to be back with a brand new visual presence here on Schroederpoultry.com. The site and brand were designed by my daughter Jenny, owner and designer at Turquoise Feathers Studio! Feel free to have a look around and contact us with any questions you may have! Thanks for stopping by!

Richard Krueger - Hi, Ifound your site through the Ameraucana Club listing. I am a hobbiest and have a few varieties of chicken, including Ameraucana. Over the next few months I plan to purchase more Ameraucana as I find homes for the other breeds.

dschroeder - Did you intend to ask a question ?

Cary Winchester - I wanted to thank Mr. Schroeder for the excellent Wheaten Ameraucanas he sold us. We have looked for two years to find a quality breeder to purchase these birds from and Mr. Schroeder’s chicks are of the highest quality we have seen. We wanted to give these our chicks the best chance of survival so we drove 300 miles to pick the birds up ourselves and we were not disappointed. Mr. Schroeder gave us a tour of his farm which included his coops and he willingly answered any questions we had about this wonderful breed. He has a wealth of information both about the breeds he raises and the latest innovations in raising chickens. As a result of our experience with him, I can not recommend him highly enough, he is an open, forthright, quality breeder and an asset to the Ameraucana breed.

dschroeder - The pleasure was all mine to meet these fine folks. I hope I’ve encouraged another long term breeder of these beautiful birds. Thanks for the positive feedback!

Marta Longo - Hi Mr Schroeder. I live in NJ. Do you ship fertile eggs? Also, do you breed BCM – I saw those dark eggs in your photos. If so, do you sell those fertilized eggs as well? I am looking for quality birds for my own breeding program. Thanks.

Duane - I do not ship fertile eggs. The dark brown eggs are from black copper marans, but I do not raise them any longer. Although I loved the size and color of their eggs, I found them not to be good layers, and I had a frequency of blood spots in the eggs. That is no big deal if I am eating the eggs, but others were “grossed out” by them. I now raise exclusively, large fowl wheaten and black Ameraucanas.
